From the Desk of the DFO

I am pleased to share that the Keonjhar Forest Division has launched its first-ever Jungle Safari at the Atei Reserve Forest, a major step toward promoting eco-tourism and showcasing our region’s rich biodiversity. This 40-km safari route offers visitors breathtaking viewpoints, river landscapes, and opportunities to observe elephants, deer, wild boars, reptiles, migratory birds, and many other species in their natural habitat. Trained driver-cum-guides will ensure an educational and safe experience for all visitors. The recent camera-trap recording of a Royal Bengal Tiger has further highlighted the ecological importance of this reserve and inspired the development of this initiative. Through this project, we aim to balance conservation with sustainable tourism while supporting local communities. I warmly invite nature lovers and tourists to explore the beauty and wildlife of Atei Jungle Safari.
